Springfield Cider
We grow and sell several varieties of true cider apples and produce a range of pure Welsh Ciders and single-variety Apple Juice.
Springfield Cider is set in 110 acres of beautiful Monmouthshire countryside and encompasses Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Special Scientific Interest. We grow and sell several varieties of true cider apples and produce a range of pure Welsh Ciders and single-variety Apple Juice. Our Ciders and Apple Juice are made from carefully selected and handpicked apples, grown in our own orchards.
The fruit is washed in natural spring water and is freshly pressed using traditional methods. We rely on natural yeasts for fermentation and use no brewing or processing aids. Our products are therefore naturally pure, with no added yeast, water, sulphites or sugar. Our Ciders and pasteurised Apple Juice are also unfiltered to preserve all their natural goodness and delicious flavour.
In 2007 their Old Barn Cider won the prestigious gold medal for Overall Champion Cider and a silver medal for their bottled Farmhouse Cider. At this year’s championships (2010) their Sweet Draught cider was voted Overall Champion Cider and their Dabinett cider won gold for the Best Draught cider (sweet category). A bottle version of the same cider won in the Still Bottled cider category.
We also breed Andalusian horses and Kune Kune pigs.
